Farming: Little Mama Style

My Farming Style:
John Deere girl on a budget.

Each year my planting style adapts, I make changes based on what worked well the year before, what I struggled with, and new tips I pick up from seasoned farmers.  My go to planting soil is a combination of our own compost (Greens and browns from garden and animals) and Miracle-Gro.

This year I used Home-Grown Non-GMO Heirloom seeds for my summer planting.  In one week many of my seedlings were 12 inches tall.  I have never seen anything like it.  They responded to the Miracle-Gro potting soil in perfect harmony.  You can find the seeds at this link:

I have always been a girl with big ideas on a small budget.  Working for farmers I have always loved John Deere Equipment.  When we bought our farm we were gifted a great value lawn tractor.  I knew we couldn't afford a John Deere so I painted it and ordered decals.... that pretty much sums up my entire farming philosophy.  I don't let a lack of funds keep me from the things that make me happy.  Whether its reusing fencing, getting gifted seeds, upcycling, refurbishing, etc. , I just adapt!

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building. 1 Cor. 3:6-9
